2007 Recipient: Award of Excellence
Known as “One of the Hundred Living Treasures of China” and the “Queen of Tai Chi,” Master Su is the 4th generation descendant of Bagua Grandmaster Sha Guozheng and Wushu Grandmaster He Fusheng. She received NWMAF’s Award of Excellence at Special Training in 2007 at Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas.
Training full-time since the early 1960s, Master Su is internationally known for her skill in Taijiquan, Baguazhang, and Xingyiquan. In national and international competitions, she won over 30 gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Proving to be one of the finest teachers and coaches, Master Su has developed high-level champions in both China and Singapore. For nine years, she was Head Coach with Singapore’s National Martial Arts Federation, which is known to change its coaches every year.
Master Su is a brilliant example of how martial arts can help people achieve health and happiness. Everywhere she goes, her kindness, depth of skill, and ability to share her passion for the arts leaves a clear path for us to follow. With grace and confidence, she humbly embodies the highest achievement of a martial artist.
