Interested in Being an Instructor?

Application Information

The event is open to women, transgender, and nonbinary instructors and attendees ages 12 and above.

During Super Saturday, the conference opens to all, including cis male attendees.

Instructor applications usually open in January each year. Check back soon for the form.

In the meantime, review the application requirements below.

Requirements

Safe Sport Certification

  • Instructors must provide verification of Safe Sport training.
  • If you are selected to teach and need Safe Sport certification, we will provide a link to the training at our expense, after which you’ll send us your certificate of completion.

Background Check

  • NWMAF conducts background checks at our expense on all instructors in order to comply with our insurance and keep all participants safe.
  • This step may not be necessary if you were already screened during the past year in order to instruct at an NWMAF regional training.

Online Orientation

  • We require that all accepted instructors attend a one-hour online orientation, covering best practices and logistics for the conference.

Compensation

  • Instructors will be compensated on a per-class basis.
  • If you are selected to teach, we will provide payment via a discount code for registration, OR via check after the conference, whichever you prefer.
  • In co-teaching or assistant-instructor situations, the second instructor must also be registered for the conference. Only the primary instructor will be paid, and may split payment with their co-instructor or assistant if they choose.

Please contact chair@NWMAF.org with any questions or concerns.
