Shihan Carolyn M. Howard is a highly accomplished martial artist, instructor, and community leader with over 25 years of dedicated training and practice in the martial arts. She is the Founder of Humble Quest School of VSK Martial Arts, a discipline-driven academy committed to developing strength, confidence, and character in both youth and adults.


Shihan Howard holds the rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt in VSK Jujutsu and has also earned the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt in Karate, certified through the International Independent Martial Artists Association (IIMAA). Her martial arts journey reflects decades of discipline, technical excellence, and deep commitment to the traditions and evolution of the art.


She is especially recognized as the first female Black Belt under Grandmaster Abdul Azeez Muhammad. She further refined her skill and teaching under the guidance of Professor Dominque Breioche.
