A Message from the NWMAF Board

To the NWMAF membership:
This is a pivotal moment for our beloved organization, and we need your leadership! Board nominations are now open. We are desperately seeking committed candidates to run for several open positions. We can’t overstate it: to ensure the future of NWMAF — we must fill these roles as soon as possible!
Urgently Needed (terms expiring at the end of summer 2026):
• Chair
• Secretary
• Development Coordinator
• Self‑Defense Coordinator
Additional Open Positions:
• Events Coordinator
• Digital Coordinator
• Marketing Coordinator
• DEI Coordinator
Nominations Deadline: March 11, 2026.
Voting opens: March 25, 2026
Voting closes: May 1, 2026.
As many of us know, the current Board has operated without an Events or Marketing Coordinator for a few years now, a situation which is unsustainable. With several additional positions opening up this summer, we are deeply concerned about the future of the organization unless committed members like yourself step forward to help lead the organization. A full Board and active member participation are essential to the success and stability of NWMAF.
Last fall, when we put out the call for a Treasurer candidate, Corinne Lagermasini stepped forward and has been doing amazing work, with the full support of our former Treasurer Cheryl Van Hoosen helping her learn her role. We are hoping others will follow Corinne’s lead, and we are all standing by, ready to give the same support and guidance to new Board members stepping into leadership.
These roles are a 2‑year commitment with participation in monthly Zoom Board meetings. If you care about the mission, the community, and the future of NWMAF, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
