Bridging Research and Practice in Empowerment Self-Defense
July 25 @ 8:00 AM - July 26 @ 1:00 PM CDT
We’ll start with a short overview of research on empowerment self-defense—along with insights from research on martial arts and healing arts—and discuss what about the research resonates, where it falls short, and what questions remain unanswered. We’ll build on that discussion to generate ideas on how research could enhance our teaching, sharpen our messaging, and support fundraising and grant efforts. Whether you’re already using research or wondering how to begin, the goal is for you to leave this session with fresh perspectives and practical inspiration. Join the conversation and help shape how we turn research into action.
