Migi Kai Bo – Sword vs. Jo – Kumitachi (2 Person Fighting Engagements)
July 25 @ 8:00 AM - July 26 @ 1:00 PM CDT
A samurai warrior confronts an unassuming farmer with nothing more than a walking stick. We will use a Jo, a four-foot staff. Come to this class to see who the victor will be. Is it the samurai armed with a blade of steel or the farmer?
In this interactive class, students will be learning the eight sword cuts used in Toyama Ryu, a Japanese sword art. Students will also learn how to defend and use the same eight strikes with a Jo. With these basics under our belts, we will discover the five, two person engagements. Some Bokken and Jo will be available to use.
Some Sword/Jo/Bo experience is helpful but not necessary.
Bring: Jo (4ft staff); Sword/Wooden Bokken – some Bokken & Jo will be available to use.
