With over 40 years of dedicated training in martial arts, Lisa Santi has achieved the rank of 7th Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, 1st Degree Black Belt in American Style Nunchaku, and a Kyu rank in Toyama Ryu, a traditional Samurai sword system. As the founder and owner of Turn of the Tide Martial Arts in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, for 35 years, Lisa has inspired countless students through coaching, instructing, and a lifelong commitment to learning. Her journey in martial arts is fueled by passion and a deep appreciation for the transformative power of the discipline.

A lifetime member of the Association of Women Martial Arts Instructors, Lisa was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2013 and again in 2024, in recognition of her 40+ years in martial arts. She was also honored by the Midwest Women’s Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2012. Her dedication to giving back is evident in her service as Events Coordinator and Chairperson for the National Women’s Martial Arts Federation. One of Lisa's greatest joys is teaching and training alongside her sons Marino and Angelo Santi, her daughter Francesca Ruggirello, and their children, continuing a legacy of martial arts within her family and community.
