Putting Our Practice to Work
July 24 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM CDT
A conversation with Carmen Alonso, Diane Rosenfeld, Meg Stone and Wasentha Young, moderated by Nancy Lanoue.
How are we, as martial artists, empowerment self-defense practitioners, and healers addressing the epidemics of violence, both personal and systemic, in the world today?
What unique skills, tools, perspective, and experience do we bring to the conversation about preventing abuse and violence?
How are we creating a more just, equitable world though our practice?
What are our challenges? What is our vision? What is the path forward?
Our hope is that this session will encourage the kind of radical allyship that we are striving to build, creating a spirit of respect and collaboration that will permeate the conference and challenge all of us to think deeply about why we train and how to use the skills we have gained to help create a better world.
