Carmel Drewes

Bio

Carmel is an NWMAF Certified ESD instructor who began practicing Empowerment Self Defense in 2000 at Sun Dragon in Austin, TX. A Yondan (4th degree black belt) in Seido Karate, she has been involved with NWMAF since 2001. Carmel is also a therapist specializing in trauma healing and work with immigrant and LGBTQ+ communities, frequently integrating ESD principles and practices into therapy for both prevention and healing.
